About Kathy
As someone who grew up here, I share the same values as the citizens of Gaston County. Raising my family, working and volunteering for many years have kept me involved with our community and aware of how the laws made in Raleigh affect our everyday lives. This year I’ll be 50, and I’ve had a wonderful life. My dad worked at WGAS, and my mom stayed home to care for us. We were raised in a loving Christian home with a strong work ethic. Mom’s 85 now, has Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, and lives at Courtland Terrace. She still loves RO’s BBQ and we try to make sure she has it for lunch once a week if we can! Dad passed away in 1993, and I miss him very much.
My husband Michael and I have two wonderful daughters. It was my pleasure to have spent many hours volunteering in their classrooms at several Gaston County Schools. Recently, I’ve served on the Boards of the Gaston County Museum of Art and History, Piedmont Charter School and Gaston Dance Theatre. After receiving my real estate license, I began working at Prudential Carolinas Realty in Gastonia.
I have never run for office, but have helped many people get elected over the last 10 or so years. After much consideration it became clear that this was the right time for me to become a candidate. We have a great campaign team in place and are working hard to assure victory in November.
I am thankful for every moment with which God has blessed me. That’s my life...so far!
